[Actually posted December 2005]
Now that I am sort-of sliding into break, I have all kinds of projects to follow up on. One of them is getting this group blog out for its first tentative steps. I originally started HKC to keep "the moovie group" in contact; as I have implied in some recent posts, I am going to remodel HKC and chnage the focus a bit. But I still want a place for all the social announcements - and even more!
So, here's the deal: I am sending out invitations to anyone who has ever posted in our little blogosphere, inviting them to become members of this blog. If you have been a longtime lurker and want to come out of the blog-closet to join this blog, let me know. The more the merrier.
As a member, you will be able to post your very own entries, rather than just comment on existing posts. Guaranteed front-page, above-the-fold exposure. This way, everyone can publicize, invite, review, notify, and otherwise interact socially.
If you have a blogger identity already, the invitation acceptance is a snap: merely a click or two with a mouse. If you haven't a blogger identity, it will take you a minute or so to create one (it looks like you are starting your own blog, but don't worry, you don't have to do anything with it). In either case, it starts with an email from me.
So, be on the lookout for you inviation, and excuse the dust while we pretty this place up.
(I've cheated this entry so it will stay pinned to the top; take a look below for newer stuff.)

Looks good so far, and for the time being I have a wee request, which may very well already be in the works: could you add recent comments? I find I'm now relying on them to follow posts/threads, especially when I'm very busy. Thanks, dude.
I assume you do not intend for this to be only a Seattle or PNW or even US centered endeavor, correct?
Here's hoping this thing takes off!
I will add the recent comments hack.
In a way, I did intend for this to be of use primarily for the local gang: a place to leave messages and notices and even "we'll be at the Egyptian tonight" type stuff. But mostly, I want to let it be whatever people want it to be.
